The caravan of observation and solidarity made up of organizations, collectives and individuals, adherents to the Sixth Declaration of the Lacandon Jungle, reports that we will once again leave today, Saturday, January 8, for the community of Nuevo San Gregorio, an autonomous municipality of Lucio Cabañas, to observe human rights and deliver supplies.
It is important to mention that beginning in 2019 until today, the families of the Zapatista Army of National Liberation Support Bases in the communities of Nuevo San Gregorio and the region of Moisés Gandhi have been under constant aggressions that seek to prevent them from continuing with the construction of their autonomy.
We want to remind that the position of the caravan of observation and solidarity is and has been in favor of peace, for that reason we demand respect for the right to autonomy and free Zapatista self-determination, to their recovered lands that are part of their territory, as well as respect and guarantee for the integrity, security and life of the Support Bases of the EZLN.
We count on the face-to-face and remote accompaniment of the Fray Bartolomé de las Casas Human Rights Center (Frayba), with the objective of carrying out an integral and continuous work.
We ask that you are attentive to the events that may occur during this solidarity caravan and to disseminate the public content of the events that occurred during and after the caravan.
