Thirty-five Years of Frayba

The Fray Bartolomé de las Casas Center for Human Rights celebrates its 35th anniversary this week. As Schools for Chiapas, we are proud to have been able to accompany the center in training BriCO volunteers.

Frayba recognizes the work of the Civil Observation Brigades in Chiapas

Bishop Raúl Vera expressed that “the work carried out from the Brico project is an inherent part of the action of defense and integral promotion of human rights and of the native peoples…Today more than ever your solidarity sustains us.”

Word of the Southeast Team of the Diocese of San Cristóbal de Las Casas on the Pilgrimage for Peace

The Southeast Team of the Diocese of San Cristóbal de las Casas denounces the rising violence in their communities and “The lack of sincerity and honesty in recognizing, on the part of the government and authorities, the reality of violence and insecurity that we are experiencing, as if denying the problem were the best way to solve it.”

“We pray to the divine Spirit to convert hearts of stone into hearts of flesh, so that, among all of us, we may build a kingdom of peace, justice, love and fraternity.”
