Woven Religious Vestment / Ceremonial Stole

Out of stock

A mix of indigenous weaving and Christian religious garments.  This ceremonial stole is used exclusively by the churches in Chiapas, Mexico and worn around the neck of those officiating religious ceremonies.

It has been allowed to leave its traditional home because the people of the community believe that religion is not something that can belong to only one person but belongs to anyone.

They have asked that this be used in churches or other religious ceremonies but can also be used as a decorative adornment.
