The Solitude of Latin America

Gabriel Garcia Marquez

The Solitude of Latin America is the title of the lecture given by Colombian author Gabriel Garcia Marquez (died 17 April, 2014, aged 87) upon receiving his Nobel Prize on the 8 December 1982. Although not specifically about Mexico, it presents a profound panorama of Latin America and teaches how all of its parts share a similar historical resonance.
