Two Critical Part-Time Positions Open!

Online Store Manager:

Schools for Chiapas Poster

Management of our online store directly supports Zapatista families in Chiapas, providing vital sources of income for their continued resistance in these challenging times. Schools for Chiapas works with collectives and individuals to build enduring solidarity economies that promote a better world.


20 to 40 hours a week.  @$15 / hour – Compensation to be based on hours worked and experience, commitment, training, and need.

Responsibilities Include:

  1. Pack and ship products warehoused in Golden Hill, San Diego and sold through the Schools for Chiapas online store. 
  2. Write copy, take photos, & upload products to be sold at our online store.
  3. Maintain a complex inventory of Zapatista-made products.
  4. Maintain clear and detailed financial records.

Desired and negotiable skills:

  1. Computer skills necessary for operating a web based store.
  2. Experience with inventory controls and photography.
  3. Commitment to the Zapatista cause.
  4.  Multilingual, well-educated, and articulate with advanced writing skills.

SOCIAL MEDIA Consultant / Fundraiser:

The Social Media consultant/fundraiser grows awareness and education about the Zapatista movement and Schools for Chiapas’ work, building broad-based support bases toward building a better world.


Two to three days a week @$15 hour. Compensation to be based time and experience, commitment, training, and need.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Fundraise to convert this part-time job into a fully funded, full-time position with health benefits.
  2. Manage a complex mixture of online education, promotion, and outreach.
  3. Coordinate sophisticated social media campaigns.
  4. Manage, and motivate existing volunteers and staff.

Desired and negotiable skills:

  1. Experience with organizing to save the planet, mitigate climate change, and promote racial and social justice, international solidary and peace.
  2. Proven fundraising skills.
  3. Commitment to the Zapatista cause.
  4. Multilingual, well-educated, and articulate with advanced writing skills.
