Time of Thieves

We have arrived at the time of the great lie. One that encompasses all lies, even those we never thought we would ever know. What remains solid? The Yankee intervention in Venezuela confirms, as its dubious Secretary of War warned, that the United States can do whatever it pleases anywhere in the world (or almost). So far, nothing disproves this. The once again unchecked Western colonialism has two champions: the United States and Israel, who, without euphemism, have trampled international law with their whims. Alpha males of global politics, Messrs. Netanyahu (N) and Trump (T) trample on civilian populations in countries other than their own, go after their citizens, and kidnap or murder them without a second thought. Who will protest? The Pope? The Nobel Peace Prize laureate? Who will sanction them? The United Nations? International courts? The Organization of American States? Europe offers no counterweight. On the contrary, the governments of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization are complicit, and in some cases participate in the felonies orchestrated from Washington (or Mar-a-Lago) and Tel Aviv; or from their own, like France and Great Britain in Africa.

When T and his people complain about what Venezuela and Mexico have “stolen” from them, we no longer know whether to laugh or cry. Laura Richardson, head of Southern Command until 2024, openly admitted that the lithium and oil of South America and the Caribbean are of “national security interest” to the United States. The world is in the hands of thieves; they make the rules (if there are any). The gold extracted from Central Africa at the cost of slavery, dispossession, and the death of hundreds of thousands of people by paramilitaries and criminal gangs that are functional and profitable for the West, frequently manipulated by Mossad, the CIA, or MI6, ends up in the coffers of that small but far from innocent power, the United Arab Emirates (UAE). From there, the blood-laundered gold is distributed. The same goes for the diamonds from the Congo, through them or through Israel.

The new barons of capitalism, Musk-style, profit even when they lose. The arms market and the technological developments it generates are on a historic rise. The entire system is interconnected: banks, corporations, congresses, and national armies, all overseen by the United States and at the service of Zionism.

The world is riddled with mines. Jihadist militias in Mali, Nigeria, Chad, and elsewhere are doing the major powers a favor by tearing countries apart. Added to this are the “nationalists” or “separatists,” as we see in N’s latest provocation of recognizing the secessionists of Somaliland as a country, which no one else in the world has recognized since 1991. This opens an African beachhead for his expanding war, centered in Gaza and with ripple effects from the West Bank, Syria, and Yemen to Iran, while Lebanon, Iraq, and Jordan receive treatment from Israel similar to that which T gives to our countries.

The powers that be applaud each new country that diminishes the previous one at the cost of great violence (Sudan, Somalia, Yemen) and endless civil wars. They become war markets, a goldmine for reconstruction companies and real estate developers, territories emptied for extractive exploitation (hydrocarbons, rare minerals, or common ones, biotic resources).

This vast operation of plunder poses legitimacy problems for the governments of T and N. For Washington (or Mar-a-Lago), it’s a personal matter with the Epstein scandal, but also because of T’s personal style: rarely have we seen a head of state become immensely wealthy right under the noses of his citizens and the entire world. He’s a vulgar Narcissus with a terrible reputation, yes, but no one stops him, because what he does benefits all capitalists. The thefts in Israel are an exaggeration. Besides the massive robbery and genocide in Gaza, and its military incursions into the East to the delight of the West, Israel faces a peculiar identity crisis. Its military theocracy fails to demonstrate, with archaeological, historical, genetic, or even cultural evidence, the biblical narrative on which Israel bases its exceptionalism and justifies its crimes by grotesquely portraying itself as a victim. The Holocaust’s legacy has expired. Israelis need to sell the world positive ideas, wash the blood off their faces and hands, and play the good guys. And they appropriate what their culture doesn’t offer, such as falafel and other Arab and Palestinian creations, or deliberately destroy Palestinian vestiges (even if they preserve Roman ones) and the olive groves still standing in Gaza and the West Bank. None of this supports the hypothesis that this is their ancestral land.

Bots, paid advertising, and fake news produced by Zionist propaganda centers in Israel and the West (from Germany and England to the United States, Argentina, and Australia), as well as videos, films, series, and digital and mass media, trivialize or deny the genocide. They flood social media and content with artificial intelligence. Shamelessly, Israel is infiltrating music festivals, sporting events, and cultural gatherings. Unless proven otherwise, it will have its way.
