Trip #119 summary description:  Help paint a massive, colorful, and educational mural in the Zapatista center of La Realidad, Caracol #I which is located deep within the Lacondon Jungle.  (Note:  The school painting will continue for two weeks until Sat., April 11, 2015 and participants are invited to stay for both weeks at no extra cost!) Delegates will paint, live and learn while sleeping in the rustic buildings  of one of the most famous of the Zapatista civilian centers and communities, La Realidad. Respect for indigenous leadership and good humor a must: no special artistic nor language skills are required to participate – but you’ll learn a lot of both because our guest muralists are amazing and fun teachers!!!  Ground transportation will be via very basic indigenous, public transportation. The delegations will have opportunities extensive face-to-face discussions with Mayan individuals and organizations engaged in directly challenging corporate driven globalization through education, health, commercialization, and alternative indigenous governmental structures. The Zapatista movement will be studied through extensive readings, video presentations, and especially direct conversations with Zapatistas.  All in all, this will be an amazing experience!
