On the Jubilee celebration of 100 years since the birth of Bishop Samuel Ruiz, and the 50th anniversary of the Indigenous Congress of 1974, thousands of parishioners marched in from all entries into San Cristóbal demanding an end to violence and a path to peace in the State.
The Pueblo Creyente organization of the municipality of Chicomuselo, Chiapas, denounced that pastoral agents and servants of the local parish were detained by members of the group El Maíz, social base of the Jalisco Cartel New Generation (CJNG).
