The morning of October 20, Padre Marcelo, human rights defender and beloved Father amongst all who struggle for life, was murdered.

“The shadow of death covers our state of Chiapas,” thousands make the pilgrimage for peace.

On the Jubilee celebration of 100 years since the birth of Bishop Samuel Ruiz, and the 50th anniversary of the Indigenous Congress of 1974, thousands of parishioners marched in from all entries into San Cristóbal demanding an end to violence and a path to peace in the State.
