A group led by mayor-elect of San Cristóbal de las Casas, seeks to expel Zapatista residents/protectors from the Huitepec Reserve, an area of 102 hectares that they have protected for 15 years.
With the excuse of verifying a complaint about the existence of “pirate” radio antennas, a convoy of the National Guard (GN), with fifty troops, raided the support base community of the Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN) located in the Huitepec hill, in San Cristóbal de Las Casas.
