Updated Statement: People of Frontera Corozal Demand Protection from Organized Crime AGAIN, Warning They Must Defend Themselves
Inhabitants and municipal authorities of Frontera Corozal, municipality of Ocosingo, requested the permanent and definitive presence of the National Guard in the region, in order to combat criminal groups operating in the Lacandon zone. This is their petition for protection.
As with the Frontera Comalapa, the communities of this region are experiencing a reign of terror perpetrated by organized crime, and largely ignored by the federal government.
