With the remarkable art of Beatriz Aurora, this poster: Granjas Integrales Familiares, represents one of the Zapatista pillars of autonomy which is agroecology. In the poster you can see reference to rabbit and poultry collectives, which have been an important source not only of protein, but have been part of the small-scale collective economies developed for additional income.
This illustration is also a portrayal of Integrated Agriculture, referring to agroecological practices of polyculture, which preserves soil fertility and moisture, fosters habitat for pollinators and webs of bird and mammal life, and long-term sustainability of milpa for generations.
