Wonderful handwoven shawl, or rebozo, by the artisan collective of Magdalena de la Paz, an Autonomous Municipality noted for their exquisite weaving. This piece was created on the traditional Mayan backstrap loom. Measurements are 75″ by 23.5″ and 5″ tassels on each end. A unique Mayan design is woven into each end of the shawl. This is a large weaving in a stunning deep purple with a blue (and other bursts of color) detail at each end. While this is a stunning piece to wear as a shawl, it would also make a gorgeous wall hanging or table runner.
