Tapachula, Chiapas. A new flight carrying 123 Mexicans deported from the United States to Chiapas arrived at Tapachula International Airport this Monday, security sources reported.

A Global Crossing Airlines Airbus A320 arrived from El Paso, Texas, also carrying Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents to guard the deportees and hand them over to the National Immigration Institute.

Federal and local authorities maintain a reception center at the Tapachula International Airport to receive deported Mexicans through the “Mexico Embraces You” program, providing them with administrative, health, legal, and economic assistance.

They also provide buses to take them to the bus terminals so they can continue on to their destination, as many are originally from states in the center and north of the country.

At least a dozen planes have arrived at the southern border from the United States carrying deported migrants since February 20th, just as Donald Trump marked his first month in office.

According to estimates by the authorities themselves, some 1,500 compatriots have been returned on these flights.
