EZLN
The Second Declaration of the Lacandon Jungle was issued in June, 1994. It is a clear message to the government that the EZLN will not surrender even if a military offensive is launched against them, and a demand for the resumption of peace talks in San Andres. It expresses hope that the encuentro (meeting) of civil society in the rebel zone, under the banner of the National Democratic Convention, will open dialogue to a broader range of Mexican society.
