CERSS No. 5 San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas, August 19, 2005.
To our comrades in the EZLN.
To our comrades in the CNI.
To our comrades in the Sixth Declaration.
To the defenders of human rights.
To the Diocese of San Cristobal.
To the media.
We are the prisoners of San Juan Cancuc who have now been imprisoned for three years and three months, paying for a crime fabricated by the prosecutor’s office that we did not commit, while we suffer, separated from our families and our community.
We know that many organizations are demanding our freedom, including the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention, which is calling on the Mexican government to grant us immediate freedom and reparations for the damage caused by so many years of unjust imprisonment.
We ask all organizations and collectives to join in demanding our freedom.
We thank our comrades who have come to visit us and who are looking out for us.
Sincerely,
The Prisoners of San Juan Cancuc.
