The Civil Society Organization Las Abejas de Acteal invites
Young people to a gathering on December 21st on the topics of: Nonviolence, Resistance and Autonomy, and Defense of Land and Territory, in coordination with the Fray Bartolomé de Las Casas Center for Human Rights (Frayba).
The suggested age for participants is 15 to 25 years old, young people in whose hearts seeds of hope and peace sprout in the face of the violence and destruction that plague our communities, organizations, collectives, and peoples.
We also invite local, national, and international media; women and men who defend human rights, Mother Earth, life, and peace; and the general public.
Media outlets will be able to cover part of the gathering.
Location: Acteal, Sacred Land of the Martyrs
Dates:
• December 20th – Arrival from 2:00 p.m.
• December 21 – Youth Gathering
• December 22 – Commemoration of the Acteal Massacre. This will be broadcast on our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@lasabejasdeacteal5453
We kindly ask that those attending bring sleeping bags, blankets, and warm clothing, as it will be cold.
Food will be provided; we will gladly share what we have.
