We are hereby announcing the dates for the Art Gathering and the Resistance and Rebellion Gathering for August 2026.
Both gatherings will take place simultaneously at the same dates and venues. Depending on the number of participants, the dates and schedules will be adjusted so that you can attend both events. Although the gatherings are open to the public, we recommend that you register, indicate the nature of your participation, and specify the days you will be present.
On Saturday, August 1, the opening ceremony will take place at the Semillero Comandanta Ramona, adjacent to the Morelia Caracol (the same venue where the First Encounter of Resistance and Rebellion, as well as the First Encounter of Women in Struggle, were held).
From Sunday, August 2, to Sunday, August 16: participant contributions and artistic performances.
Monday, August 17: Transportation to San Cristóbal de Las Casas, Chiapas.
Tuesday, August 18, Wednesday, August 19, and Thursday, August 20: roundtable discussions titled “The Arts Under Siege (Dance, Film, and Theater).” Featuring, among others, Luis de Tavira, Dolores Heredia, Marina de Tavira, Natalia Beristain, David Gaytán, Argelia Guerrero, and Iván Prado. At CIDECI.
Friday, August 21, through Saturday, August 29. The Arts, Resistance, and Rebellion gatherings continue at the Caracol de Jacinto Canek (where the April 2025 Arts gathering took place).
Sunday, August 30. Closing ceremony.
Participants, listeners, and observers are welcome to attend on the dates that best suit them.
