CNI PUBLIC DISCLAIMER REGARDING THE MESOAMERICAN CARAVAN FOR CLIMATE AND LIFE
To the peoples of Mexico and the world,
To human rights organizations and collectives,
To the Networks of Resistance and Rebellion,
To the National and International Sixth,
To the signatories of A Declaration for Life on the five continents,
To Dignified, and Rebel Europe.
The Coordination and Monitoring Commission of the National Indigenous Congress (CNI), through this statement, clarifies, in response to the concerns expressed by brothers and sisters from various peoples and organizations in Mexico and Central America, that the so-called MESOAMERICAN CARAVAN FOR CLIMATE AND LIFE is not an initiative originating from or promoted by the National Indigenous Congress, without prejudicing the legitimacy of several of the organizations participating in it.
We also declare that the Zapatista Army of National Liberation, the founding organization of the CNI, has expressed its firm disagreement and protest against the use of its symbols in various events of the Mesoamerican Caravan for Climate and Life, which have occurred without its knowledge and consent. For this reason, we also express our condemnation of the acts of impersonation and simulation committed by the organizers of this caravan, which are contrary to the principles of the CNI and will be addressed with due care by our internal bodies.
