Building on years of work inspired by the Zapatista Health System and traditional indigenous practices, we continue to strengthen community health through collective learning and care.
|
We continue working with women from organized communities, offering workshops focused on herbal medicine and health prevention. These spaces invite participants to reflect inwardly—on themselves, their families, Mother Earth, and their communities—to better understand their own health.
|
Together, we’ve been recovering the ancestral wisdom of grandmothers and grandfathers, using local plants to make medicines that help us heal and prevent illness.

This past week, as the bad governments continued their rampage of greed and hatred on the global stage, in the highlands of Chiapas, another world was multiplying itself for LIFE and DIGNITY on the proscenium of the day after the storm. The Zapatista festival, Rebel y Revel Arte, gathered over a thousand creators and performers from 24 countries across the globe and hundreds of Zapatistas in a celebration of a world that is under construction in the hearts and movements of the people. Throughout the festival poets and painters, rappers and clowns wove the strands of joyful resistance and defied the cult of death (capitalism) —for the first four days high in Caracol VII of Jacinto Canek, and over the weekend descending to the campus of CIDECI Unitierra in San Cristóbal de las Casas.

We share these few images with you to remind you that you matter — your pain, your rage, your words, your hope and your creativity matter. Don’t forget that. We need one another. Keep resisting, keep creating.
