On the morning of April 2nd, the Luz de Esperanza Desaparecidos Jalisco (Jalisco Disappeared Light of Hope) collective reported the death of Teresa González Murillo on social media, who had been searching for her brother Jaime González Murillo since September 2nd, 2024. The searcher was the victim of a shooting in her own home on March 27th, 2025, when she resisted being taken by force. Mexico has now witnessed 12 murders and one disappearance of relatives of missing persons.
