In recent weeks, media announced a that the communities in the path of the San Cristóbal -Palenque highway had agreed to a long contested project. This week, Tseltales from the municipalities of Ocosingo and Chilón filed two amparos (writs of protection) aimed at preventing the project, citing the State's abuses of the right to consultation and lack of public information.
